Marc Biedermann

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marc Biedermann is a El Sobrante, California based heavy metal guitarist, vocalist, bassist and songwriter. He is perhaps best known for being the guitarist/vocalist and chief songwriter and driving force behind the progressive thrash metal (Marc says he's always just thought of it as "Acid Rock") band Blind Illusion. He has also played on Blue Öyster Cults Imaginos album (in the "guitar symphony") and played bass on Heathens Victims of Deception album.

Biedermann is currently working on a hyper-intensive, pick'n and a grin'n, project, named "The Ghost Kings," an energized, countrified, Rock-a-Billy, Blues band in which he sings and plays guitar, along with Bret Hern, of Blind Illusion, on drums, and another monster, "Scarey" Eric Lagosh, on slide guitar. They are all natives of, and still reside, in the El Sobrante, (Bay area) of California, U.S.A. They played to a standing ovation, by a jury of their peers, at Hotel Utah, South of Market, San Francisco, with Tony, son-of-a Mayfield, on congas. Hern laid back a bit, and it was amazing.

Biedermann is not only masterfully, proficient on guitar and bass, but also piano, keyboards, and violin, as well.

Ironically, Marc lives the life of an aesthetic monk, like a Taoist hermit, of the Pine Martin abode, on Emi Mountain, ....yet he still somehow finds the time, to come to town, to record in the studio, play an occasional gig, and a couple of times per week, to teach Shaolin, Kung-fu, at the Wen Wu School, in El Cerrito. Private guitar and bass lessons too.

With the recent, Metal Mind Productions', re-release of Sane Asylum, his album out by Blind Illusion, Marc is preparing for a tour of Eastern Europe, and Japan, as a new album is already in the can. This is a result of, for many reasons, that despite problems, some of which were big, the fact he is a good musician.
