María Díaz Cortés (born January 4, 1892?) claims to be the oldest person in the world. She was born in Spain, and went forty years without heating or hot water.[1] A gipsy, she owns a valid Spanish identity card with such a birth date, but it was not issued before 1975 and is not a copy of an earlier one, and her daughter is only 72.[2]
