I believe that this picture is incorrectly marked as having been taken at the Point of Rocks station.
- There is a decided curve in the tracks at Point of Rocks. These tracks are straight.
- No trains start at Point of Rocks, which is the only situation where the train would be sitting on the platform giving the conductors a chance to "chat". I can't find any evidence that that was ever different.
- The platform on the eastbound side is longer and the shelters are more spaced out at Point of Rocks
- There is no railing on the westbound platform at Point of Rocks. You would either see the station building or the tracks coming from the Frederick extension.
- The parking lot north of the tracks at Point of Rocks is further away than here
- On the far left of the picture is a sign stating the name of the station and the end point for trains using this platform. While it's not readable, it's obviously much shorter than "Point of Rocks".
I am almost 100% certain that this picture was actually taken at the Brunswick station.
- Trains start there, and the conductors stand on the platform while passengers board.
- The platform used in Brunswick is straight and short like this one, and the shelters match.
- The westbound platform has a railing just like this one, and the parking lot is just behind it.
- It does not resemble any other platforms between Brunswick and Rockville on the Brunswick line.
The only thing thing that gives me pause is I have not seen any of the stations in West Virginia. However, since I ride this train from Brunswick daily, I'm confident enough to change the text.
