[edit] Links

The external links are to badly documented 'thousands of deities' lists and should be replaced.

fair enough. what would be better? Whateley23 23:23, 19 July 2005 (UTC)

http://druidry.org/obod/deities/maponos.html would have been better had it still existed. In general, an external link should provide more info than the atricle, rather than less. I propose to just delete them. --Nantonos 18:37, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

Although this isn't too bad

[edit] Etymology

I have pulled the following:

Entries in the University of Wales' reconstructed Proto-Celtic lexicon (http://www.wales.ac.uk/documents/external/cawcs/pcl-moe.pdf ) suggest that the name is likely to be ultimately derived from the Proto-Celtic *Makwonos , a phrase with the Proto-Celtic semantic connotations of ‘The Youthful Lad.’

because it conveys little information. It points to a dictionary but does not say what words there have actually been used to derive the etymology. Further, the lexicon itself notes that no Gaulish material has been added to the lexicon so far. Instead I have added a more detailed etymology, with references. --Nantonos 17:51, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
