Mapesbury

Mapesbury is an affluent ward in the London Borough of Brent, to the North of Willesden Green.
The ward returns three councillors to sit on Brent Council. In the 2006 local elections, the traditional Labour/Conservative marginal dramatically returned three Liberal Democrat councillors: Hayley Matthews, Chris Leaman and Sami Hashmi.
The ward sits in the Brent East constituency, and is represented in parliament by Liberal Democrat Sarah Teather. Following boundary changes by the Electoral Commission, Mapesbury will form part of the new Brent Central seat at the next general election.
Mapesbury ward has strong links to Irish culture and over 10% of it's population are Irish.
