MAPICS
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MAPICS is an acronym for Manufacturing, Accounting and Production Information Control System,[1] pronounced "may picks". It is a commercial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software package which is used to control the operations of manufacturing companies. MAPICS was created by International Business Machines (IBM) but is now owned by Infor and has been rebranded Infor ERP XA.[2][3]
Originally, MAPICS ran only on IBM midrange systems like the IBM System/34, IBM System/36, and the IBM System i (also known as IBM AS/400 or IBM eServer iSeries) where it uses RPG, CL, and SQL language components typical of these platforms. More recent development efforts have added object oriented components written in Java which are capable of running on other systems.
