Maoricrypta is a genus of small to medium-sized sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the family Calyptraeidae which are commonly known as slipper snails, cup and saucer shells and Chinese hat shells.

This genus is endemic to New Zealand and Australia.
[edit] Shell description
The shell is irregularly ovate, usually with strong longitudinal sculpture. There is a plate or shelf covering half the aperture, which protects the viscera.
