Maoricrater is a genus of true limpets, marine gastropod molluscs in the family Lepetidae, the true limpets.

This genus is endemic to New Zealand.
[edit] Description
Maoricrater shells are patelliform, ovate, high arched, anterior slope concave, posterior slope gently convex. Sculpture is of closely spaced prominent concentric folds, decussated by numerous finer radials. The animal has the edge of the mantle thickened and bearing a continuous series of cilia. The radula has a row of central teeth, apparently formed by the coalescence of three teeth. Found in deep water.
