Maorichiton is a genus of chitons in the family Mopaliidae.
They are small to moderate sized, narrow and depressed, with valves distinctly sculptured with radial ridges, crossed by chevroned wrinkles. The sutural lamellae are widely separated. The tail valve is triangular, the mucro forming the extreme posterior edge. The girdle is leathery, bearing bunches of corneous 'hairs' at the sutural pores.
