Mao Dongdong

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mao Dongdong (born December 26, 2003) is currently the only great-grandson of Mao Zedong and was born on the 110th anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth. His father is Mao Xinyu, the son of Mao Zedong's second son, Mao Anqing, and his wife Shao Hua. Dongdong's mother, Liu Bin, is a soldier and the family was photographed together at a commemoration for the 112th anniversary of Mao's birth in 2005.

In a recent interview, Xinyu said he had not yet given his son a formal name. His nickname is similar to Mao's in the use of the character dong in his given name, Zedong, which translates as 'east'.[1]
