[edit] Hindu answers to the problem of evil

Thanks for your message. The key to Wikipedia is that it's a collaborative exercise, and that editing is done within a set of guidelines and policies (some useful links are given in the Welcome message above). These make sure that all articles are written from a neutral point of view, with citations and no original research. The style should be encyclopædic – not too informal – and shouldn't address the reader directly, etc. There are also styles for the use of headings.

Generally, if you edit on a small scale, other editors will tidy up any errors that you make, and you'll find that what seems like a very complicated and huge set of rules and customs soon becomes natural to you. It's best to start that way, making small edits, gradually working up to larger-scale edits, and eventually whole new articles.

If you have any questions or problems, feel free to ask me (and you'll find that other editors are also happy to help).

Happy editing! --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 08:33, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your VandalProof Application

Dear Manasgarg,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that lack of mainspace edits. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.
