[edit] Biography
Born in a hospital in Zachary, Louisiana, Klayton lived in Denham Springs, Louisiana until 1998, where he moved to Prairieville, Louisiana and then in late 2007, Klayton moved to Saint Amant, Louisiana. Until mid-1990's, Klayton listened to 80's pop until hearing his first metal song, which was "Hell Patrol" by Judas Priest. Shortly after, he dreamed of playing an eletric guitar and becoming the best metal guitarist alive. Along side of his love for "True Metal", he also loves the Japanese culture and later getting into computer technology and a moderate obsession for video games.
On February 1, 2008, Klayton became a U.S. Army soldier. Klayton's MOS is 92G (Food Service Specialist) and leaves for boot camp May 20th, 2008 to be stationed at Fort Jackson and AIT at Fort Lee. Klayton's current rank is Private First Class thanks to three years of NJROTC at St. Amant High School
[edit] Musical Background
At the age of 13, he began to take guitar lessons and learned very quickly. He ultimately became a master of rhythm guitaring within less than 2 years, so he decided to take on the challenge of lead guitaring. He hates covering songs and perfers playing his material. Due to his region, he often has problems finding a band he could bring out his skills to his fullest.
At the age of 17, Klayton decided to take a piano class at his high school. Because of this, he was able to learn how to play keyboards and began composing on the keyboard. During the summer, Klayton would upgrade from his little cheap starter Yahama to a Casio CTK-900 and begin to compose with many great tones.
His early style was of playing Speed Metal which evolved into playing Thrash Metal/Heavy metal. Years later, after first hearing Power Metal, he decided that was the style he desired to do so it change into a Thrash Metal/Power Metal and then pure power metal and then later to Progpower.
Klayton does state he sings a bartone/bass range due from choir, he actually has the ability to surpass that range. After he turned 18, his voice shifted from a baritenor to a tenor.
[edit] Poetical Background
Klayton wasn't a poet until late 2005. There was poetic ability displayed years pior to this title but did not wish to persue this title and only a guitarist title.
His first true poem, The Hate I Face, won the Editor's Choice Award by the International Library of Poetry(poetry.com). His next poem, The Thy Treasure, was also nominated for an award but failed to recieve the award. Klayton would win "Editor's Choice Award" again with the poem "What is Love" which could be considered a great Valentine's Day poem as it was awarded around that time. All of Klayton's poems can be viewed at www.poetry.com .
[edit] Music Style
Klayton's music style is unique in the way that it has mixtures of different backgrounds of music, similar to the case of DragonForce where Herman Li claims that DragonForce combines different styles of Metal and even Rock.
