Isn't Robin Bawa the first NHL player of Indian descent?

Hi i wondered if any NHL buffs could tell me what religion Manny is (that is if he has a religious belief). With a Gothra name like Malhotra and his forebears being from the Punjab, i would suspect that he is Sikh. MSP4realMF 1910 hrs 24/06/06.
