[edit] Expressway

I'd be careful to call Lagimodiere Blvd. an expressway. Inside of the Perimeter Highway, there is only one interchange, many intersections with just lights, and some where Lagimodiere doesn't stop, but the cross street has stop signs. I don't think this fits most peoples definition of an expressway. Robertyoung 20:19, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
Looking at this further, and checking out the Google Maps satellite images, it looks like the only times there are direct access to adjacent properties (one of the definitions of an expressway) is via yields off and onto only the adjacent direction of traffic. The article should stay as is. Robertyoung 05:22, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Boundary

Note that Panet Road, not Hwy 59, is the unofficial boundary between East Kildonan and Transcona. --209.115.235.79 05:09, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
The Sherlock Map of Winnipeg uses Plessis Road as the boundary between St. Boniface and Transcona, but uses Highway 59 as the boundary between East Kildonan and Transcona. (The railway between Mission and Narin is considered the boundary between St. Boniface and East Kildonan) Robertyoung 01:15, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Do not rely on the Sherlock map for correct boundaries. That publication does not de-lineate a boundary between Elmwood and East Kildonan which is properly the back lane between Harbison and Larsen Avenues. Panet Road is the old Highway 59 (previously known as Bird's Hill Road - hence the old bus route Talbot - Bird's Hill). Plessis Road is the boundary between St.Boniface and Transcona only in its southern section. In the northern section it is the boundary between Transcona and North Kildonan. Transcona does extend west to Panet Road; all of Regent Avenue lies in Transcona. This explains why Regent Ave. becomes Nairn Ave. west of Panet. The railway line (CN mainline) between Mission and Nairn is the boundary between Elmwood (old City of Winnipeg) and St.Boniface, not E.K. and St.Boniface. Elmwood is part of the original City of Winnipeg (from 1906) and is still part of Winnipeg School Division No.1. East Kildonan was a separate municipality and was in fact its own city until the Unicity scheme took effect in 1972. Elmwood is however part of the original Parish of Kildonan. --209.115.235.79 10:03, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
