[edit] Possible Copy Vio?

Pl. check http://www.indian-elections.com/keycontenders/maneka-gandhi.html or is it possible that the above website copied frm wikipedia? ---Gurubrahma 14:08, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

It's a clear copyvio going by the fact that the external website had this text at least as far back as June 25, 2004, whereas this article was started only later here. Hopefully, we'll reword the text. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 08:44, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nonsense!

Ms Gandhi is not a "prominent" politician nor an etymologist nor an environmentalist. Cruxit 08:08, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

She's won by record margins many times under different party tickets. This fact is supported by sources in the article. Same about her being an environmentalist. We never said she's a prominent etymologist, but only that she's authored books on etymology, which can be verified from the link to amazon site provided in the article. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 08:15, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Environmental activism

As far as I know, Ms. Gandhi is not an environmental activist. She is an animal rights activist. I think the words there need to be changed.

Also can we remove the phrase "after a falling out with Indira Gandhi in 1982", from the lead as its mentioned in the very next para. -- Lost 09:54, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

What a coincidence, I changed the lead to read "animal rights activist" as you were posting it here! -- Sundar \talk \contribs 09:57, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
