There was NO good reason to remove this article to emerge as the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. It is NOT the same thing: admitting that the M&LR became part of the L&YR, it was not the only one: the L&YR has been described as "amalgamations, leases, agreements, extensions, widenings and deviations" [Railway Year Book 1912, Railway Publishing Company] and as such the major parts of it should have separate articles.
