Continued financial concerns for almost a decade starting in 1998, tough competition from vendors of similar software and a crash of the dot com boom heralded the steady deterioration of this famed Supply chain software company. After struggling for 9 years, it returned to positive numbers in 2006 and finally was sold off to rival retail-demand-chain software maker, JDA Software [1].

  • Common Stock

Manugistics Group began trading on the Nasdaq in August 1993 at $10 per share under the symbol "MANU". The shares rose, and had two 2-1 stock splits. The company never paid a dividend.

MANU was bought by JDA Software for $2.50 in cash. If you bought 1 share at $10 at its IPO in 1993, you would have had 4 shares at $2.50 or $10 when the company was bought; or a ZERO percent gain.

MANU's primary competition was from I2 Technologies "ITWO" and PeopleSoft, now a division of Oracle.

Manugistics employed 1,200 employees and had $300 million in annual revenue at its peak in 2001.
