Manuela Myriam Henri Ramin-Osmundsen (born July 15, 1963 at Martinique) is a Norwegian politician belonging to the Norwegian Labour Party. She was appointed minister of Children and Equality Affairs in the second cabinet Stoltenberg at October 18, 2007, becoming the first non-white member of the Norwegian Cabinet.[1] Born a French citizen, Ramin-Osmundsen came to Norway in 1991, and became a Norwegian citizen early October 2007, 14 days before being appointed the minister of Children and Equality Affairs. She resigned as minister of Children and Equality Affairs on February 14, 2008 due to the strong criticism she faced, withholding information and lying to the prime minister on a possible conflict of interest in appointing a new children's ombudsman the week before.[2]
