Manuel Ruiz Pérez (born December 3, 1962 in Jerez de la Frontera) is a Spanish football coach and former player.
During his football career, he played for several clubs including his childhood club Xerez CD, UD Melilla and Sanluqueño. After retiring, he began working as a coach and currently is the assistant coach of Real Madrid.
Ruiz debuted as a player with Xerez CD in 1979/80 before signing for Zaragoza three years later. Real Madrid's current assistant coach began his coaching career with the same team he first played for and led them to Segunda Division.
Ruiz has been Bernd Schuster's right hand man for six years, having worked for the German coach at Xerez CD, Levante, and Getafe. He is also responsible for designing the team's strategic set pieces and analyzing game tapes of rival teams.
