Manteno Township is located in the northern tier of townships in Kankakee County, Illinois and includes the Village of Manteno. The population was 7,846 at the 2000 census, the third largest in the county.
It is located at 41.250911 N, -87.835313 W. It has 94.96 km² (37 sq mi). (36.66 square miles) of land and 0.237 km². (0.0917 square miles) covered by water. It has 3,283 housing units.

The township is governed by an elected Town Board of a Supervisor and four Trustees. The Township also has an elected Assessor, Clerk, Highway Commissioner and Supervisor. The Township Office is located at 452 Water Tower South, Manteno, IL 60950.
