Mansural Haque

Admiral Mansural Haque (Urdu: امیر البحر منصور الحق) is a former head of Pakistan Navy, who was sacked on corruption charges. He was arrested on charges of corruption and later negotiated a plea bargain and was released. He was implicated in Agosta Submarine Deals fraud in 1994 as well as other arms sales. He was dismissed and arrested by Nawaz Sharif Government in 1997 but nothing serious came of it. He was arrested again, this time by the US Government, and returned to Pakistan in 2001 to face charges of corruption by the Pervez Musharraf Government. He was re-arrested because of a deal made through Pakistan National Shipping Corporation which caused the loss of some $3,000,000 to the national exchequer. He was sentenced to 7 year rigorous imprisonment in 2004 and fined Rs. 2,000,000. In addition the government also striped off his rank and all the awards conferred upon him during his service.
