[edit] Story
Abhiram (Nagarjuna) is a manager in his own ad agency. He hates women and he feels that all women are traitors. Abhiram's uncle (Tanikella Bharani), who is the chairman of the ad agency, appoints Harika (Sonali Bendre) as an assistant manager. Though Abhiram does not like a girl joining his company, he has to live with it as the appointment is made by his uncle (Tanikella Bharani). He starts mistreating her. Harika, vexed by Abhiram's acts, submits her resignation to Abhi's uncle, who then narrates the flashback of Abhiram to Harika. The rest of the film is how Abhi falls in love with Harika.
[edit] Boxoffice performance
- The film collected a share of nearly Rs. 13.5 crore in 83 days after its theatrical release.[1]
[edit] Notes
The movie's central theme is borrowed from Mel Gibson's What women want. In manmadhudu, Abhi installs spy microphones to spy on his office staff. Whereas in What women want, Nick gets the ability to listen women's thoughts after a small accident. In both movies, the hero saves a girl in the office who tries to commit suicide. Nick also tries on women's lip-stick at home - Abhi does the same thing too. On the whole, Manmadhudu borrows heavily from What women want. The red sports car that Abhiram drives in the movie is a 1992 Nissan 300sx. This model was discontinued in 1994 and would have been an import. The movie has references to tehelka.com.
