As of 2001 India census^[2], Mankapur had a population of 8865. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Mankapur has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 63%. In Mankapur, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Mankapur is birth place of Shri. Upendra Singh.He is born and bread in Mankapur. He completed his schooling from AP Inter-College where he stood first in his class and was ranked in the top 10 in the erstwhile Indian state of Uttar Pardesh. He completed his M.Sc(Gold Medalist) in Nuclear Physcics from esteemed Benaras Hindu University. He currently is Chief Commissioner of Income Tax with Government of India. He is the first son of the soil to get selected in the elite civil services(Indian revenue Services) and was ranked 2nd in India within the 1971 selection batch.

Hailing from family of late Shri. Shree Dutt Singh and late Smt. Shail Kumari Devi, he is one of four sons. Shri. Shree Dutt Singh was the founding principal of AP Inter-College. Though AP Inter College was established by the major financial contribution from the honoroable Raja Ambikeshwar Pratap Singh Ji, it was Shree Dutt Singh's sweat and blood which saw the college being setup and established.

Mr Upendra Singh has followed in the footsteps of his great educationist father and has established prominent school in Mankapur Town and college in Shree Dutt Nagar. He inhertied the mantle of social service with a purpose from his late father Shree Dutt Singhji. The college, Dada Karan Singh Inter College is known education center in the Mankapur Tehsil. He has established CBSE standard school Sree Dutt Memorial Public School of Science and Commerce at Gayatri Nagar, Mankapur. The president of the educational institutions are Mrs. Krishna Upendra Singh.

Shri Upendra Singh has organized medical camps, eye camps and grabi hatao campaigns for the benefit of the needy and poor masses of Mankapur. His efforts has let to the establishment of two temples in Sree Dutt Nagar (formerly known as Kudasan) and Tikri and primary care clinic in Sree Dutt Nagar. Being successful son of the soil, Mr Singh has grand plans for economic and social upliftment of the area.

Mr Upendra Singh's residence is Vindhya Bhavan [1] part of the commissioners colony.

Other successful sons of the soil also hail from the lineage of Sree Dutt Singh. Mr Manvendra Singh, son of Shri Upendra Singh calls Manakapur his home. Manvendra completed his Bachelors in Electronic Engineering from University of Mumbai. There after he secured admission in one of the Top 20 B-schools in the world. Graduating with an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is currently pursuing his career as a manager for Abbott Labs in Chicago,IL, USA.

Mr Ambrish Singh is another son of the soil. Middle sibling to Shri Upendra Singh and Smt Krishna Singh. Ambrish graduated with an Electronic Engineering degree from University of Mumbai. He has gone on to pursue his MBA from Thunderbird School of Management in Glendale, AZ, USA. Thunderbird is ranked no.1 in the world for International MBA degree. Currently Ambrish is engaged in pursuing his passion in world of investment banking. He works for Enam Financial as Head of Private Equity. He is one of the elite bankers in the country and at a very tender age has been entrusted a great honor and responsibility.

Kumari Bhairavi Singh youngest sibling of Mr Upendra Singh is based in New York City, NY, USA. She completed her bachelors in business from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, FL at the Top of her class. She works with Wachocvia Bank in Manhattan, NYC, NY, USA as Sr. Financial Consultant.
