Manikya Dynasty

The Kings of Tripura (formerly Twipra Kingdom) assumed the title of Manikya. Manikya dynasty was of Indo-Mangolian origin. This Dynasty started since Ratna Fa (Ratna Manikya) assumed the title in 1280 A.D. The last independent King of the Manikya Dynasty was Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, who ruled from 1947 A.D. till his death in 2007 a minor king till the merger in 15 september 1949
One of the famous Manikya ruler was Bir Chandra Manikya Bahadur (19th century)[1]
Maharaja Kirit Pradyot Deb Barman Manikya Bahadur is the current head of the Royal House of Tripura.
