Manikgad fort is located near Pen, India. To reach Manikgad from Pune, following is the route.

Pune > Khopoli > Pen Phata > Varsai Phata > Ghotegaon.

Just when Pen is 13 km on Alibaug road, you will see Varsai Phata on to your right. After some few kilometers from here, bypass Varsai and go towards Ghotegaon. Ghotegaon is the base village. From here you have to go walking to reach Manikgad. The trek can be completed in one day. The total distance from Pune to Ghotegaon is 120 km. If you want to go by ST bus from Pune, go up to Khopoli. From Khopoli catch another bus to Varsai. Get down at Varsai and start walking towards Ghotegaon which is about 5 km.
