The Manheim Central School District is a school district of 3,111 students educated in eight schools in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.[1] It is a member of Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit (IU) 13. It is also the home of the 2006 Pennsylvania AA Eastern State Soccer Champions and the 2003 Pennsylvania AAA State Football Champions. The current president of the school board is Brian Sauder.[citation needed]

Attendance at Burgard Elementary School in Manheim, Pennsylvania during the 2005-2006 school year was 96.54%, essentially the same as the 96.42% scored in the prior year. Students were 73.6% proficient in mathematics and 68.5% proficient in reading.[2]

Attendance at Doe Run Elementary School in Manheim, Pennsylvania during the 2005-2006 school year was 96.51%, essentially the same as the 96.70% scored in the prior year. Students were 75.9% proficient in mathematics and 73.7% proficient in reading.[3]

Attendance at Stiegel Elementary School in Manheim, Pennsylvania during the 2005-2006 school year was 96.01%, essentially the same as the 96.82% scored in the prior year. Students were 82.6% proficient in mathematics and 72.5% proficient in reading.[4]

Attendance at Sporting Hill Elementary School in Manheim, Pennsylvania during the 2005-2006 school year was 97.78%, essentially the same as the 97.76% scored in the prior year. Students were 100.0% proficient in mathematics and 91.4% proficient in reading.[5]

Attendance at Manheim Central Middle School in Manheim, Pennsylvania during the 2005-2006 school year was 95.60%, slightly lower than the 95.88% scored in the prior year. Students were 66.9% proficient in mathematics and 78.2% proficient in reading.[8]

Graduation rate at Manheim Central Senior High School in Manheim, Pennsylvania during the 2005-2006 school year was 86.61%, a slight drop from the 88.24% scored in the prior year. Students were 62.9% proficient in mathemtics and 75.0% proficient in reading.[9]

[edit] Manheim Central Soccer

The Manheim Central soccer team had a successful 2006 season, with a record of 13-1-1. They won their section (as did the junior varsity team), lost in the semifinal of leagues, won the District III championship (defeating Hershey 2 to 1), and finally lost in the AA state championship game to defending champions South Park, 2 to 0. Their coach, Mr. Matthew Schwartz, was 2006 AA Boys Soccer Coach of the Year for Pennsylvania.[10]
