Manfred Pohlschmidt

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Manfred Pohlschmidt (born August 27, 1940) is a retired German soccer player.

He started his Bundesliga career with Preussen Muenster in the 1963/64 season. He retired from professional soccer 1970/71 as a midfielder for Schalke 04.

Pohlschmidt considered by many players in the world was the most under-rated player in the Bundesliga. His ability and genius to tackle and assist in goals is still being studied by many great players today. His fellow teammates during the time considered him great but an injury ended his career in 1971. People are still arguing whether or not he would have been the greatest football player, even greater than Pele.
