Manfred Kridl

Manfred Kridl (1882-1957) was a Polish historian of literature. Since 1932 he worked at the Stefan Batory University in Wilno. Opponent of the anti-semitic ghetto ławkowe policy. During the Second World War, in 1940, he managed to escape from occupied Poland, and settled in United States. There he worked first at Smith College and later at Columbia University.
