Manekpore - Rethwania is a small lively and peaceful village in the state of Gujarat in western India off Indian National Highway 8 on Vansda Road from where you can travel to ahwa, via waghai, and vansda, and to the famous hill station of Saputara.

The village population consists a mixture of Muslims and Hindus, who have been living together in harmony for centuries. Unofficial records state the population of this village is approximately 3,500. The Muslim population constitutes approximately 1,200. Many people from the village have emigrated abroad and have now settled in Africa, France, Portugal and United Kingdom.

Some of the facilities that can be found in the village includes a state primary school, Post Office, telephone booths, a doctor's surgery and dispensery. Place of worship in the village include two mosques, main Muslim mix madressa, orphan Muslim boys school (charitable trust), orphan Muslim girls school (charitable trust) sponsored by Haji Murad Ali Patel (al Murad) United Kingdom, teenage Muslim girls school (charitable trust) premises sponsored by laher bro's United Kingdom and South Africa.

Most of the people in the village are middle aged and are illiterate and uneducated and their children are same due to not enough commitments from the parents to educate them, teenage boys have little or no education and are always hanging around pan stalls and dependent on handouts from abroad and waiting for foreign brides to come over and take them abroad for better life, the lack of education is the same to be said about girls and always kept in house to do housework, very few youngsters are learning some or any kind of trade most common is tailoring and Agriculture is the main form of occupation with some of that also is dying out and many land owners are leasing their land out to other farmers from other states, only handful of hard working families are still farming rice, wheat, growing sugercane and mangos during their respective growing seasons. The canal is utilised for the irrigation process.

Manekpore borders Rethwania, Alipore - gujarat, Adharpeer, Bamanvale, Harangam and Rankuwa, Nearby villages are easy to get to via local transport infrastructure. The nearest small towns are rankuwa and Chikhili and The nearest big towns are Bilimora and Navsari. The nearest cities are Surat and Valsad. The nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai.

The manekpore village in the past was mainly run by two famous friends haji fakir hajat Patel and haji ahmed ebrahim ravat (lakhi Patel) they were the two people who put manekpore on the map by their honesty, fairness and love for the village between them they bought many facilities into the village ie. bus service, electricity, education, mosques, madressas etc. after their deaths their sons carried on their fathers traditions of good charitable work haji gulam fakir hajat Patel in India and haji yusuf ahmed ravat (lakhi Patel) in UK he was president of manekpore Muslim jamaat UK until he passed away in 2000. May Allah grant him and all the people who passed away the highest place in jannat ameen.
