Mandelbaum House
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mandelbaum House is a small college which is a part of the University of Sydney. Located in Darlington, Mandelbaum is unique amongst the colleges of the university due to the significant influence played by Orthodox Judaism on its culture.
Mandelbaum House has been designed to accommodate Jewish students. Catering adheres to kosher law, as does the scheduling of classes and events at the college. Surprisingly, despite the prominence of Judaism's influence, few of Mandelbaum's 30 students are actually Jewish. Most are from rural areas of Australia or come from abroad. Mandelbaum is the smallest of the colleges at the University of Sydney.
