Manchester Slingback

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Manchester Slingback is a novel by Nicholas Blincoe, set in the Canal Street area of Manchester, the city's Gay Village. The novel contrasts the underground status of the village during the 1980s, when the city's Chief Constable was James Anderton, with its flourishing as a tourist attraction in the 1990s.

Manchester Slingback won the Crime Writer's Association Silver Dagger when it was first published in 1998 by Picador.
