The Manchester Passion is a passion play about the last hours of Jesus, retold using a backdrop of contemporary Manchester music.
The event took place on the streets of Manchester, and aired live on BBC Three on Good Friday, April 14, 2006.
The event was created by the same people who created Flashmob: The Opera also aired on BBC Three.
A similar event, staging the Nativity of Jesus in Liverpool was shown on the BBC at Christmas 2007.

- When Jesus is picking up his roll and chips from the van, the server is reading The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, the controversial novel that raises ideas about Jesus' life. He was served his roll by Tony Wilson, founder of Factory Records.
