From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Founded in 1933 Manchester Canoe Club (MCC) is based on the River Goyt at Marple, south east of Stockport in Cheshire. The club is actively involved in the development of canoe sport, particularly in the areas of river touring (both placid water and white water), and the competitive disciplines of White Water Racing and Canoe Slalom.
The stretch of the River Goyt at the club site is grade 1 to 2, with a number of pools, eddies and a couple of small rapids.
