Manangatang is a remote town in north-west Victoria, Australia. At the 2006 census, Manangatang had a population of 448. It is sometimes noted for its unusual name, from an Aboriginal term meaning "watering hole." The town's position places it at a junction linking Melbourne with the Murray River and Adelaide with the Snowy Mountains.

The local area consists mainly of farming, primarily wheat and sheep but also cows and birds, such as Squab.

Manangatang is known locally for its horse racing spring carnival, one of the largest rural horse races in Victoria. The Managatang Football Club, an Australian rules football team, was made famous by a catchphrase of commentator Lou Richards; "They couldn't beat the Manangatang thirds".[2]

The town possesses Victoria's smallest public hospital and nursing home.
