Manakala or Manakkala is a village in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala state, India. It is 4km from Adoor.
This village holds the pride of being the nurturer of the great artist Mr. Adoor Gopalakrishnan who spent all his childhood days here. His ancestral house is still here (Mouttathu house) with all its glory. Manakala is also home to one of the best Engineering colleges under Cochin University and the students here have secured many University Ranks in the past years. There is also one very famous vishnu temple here (Srinarayanapuram temple) which is more than 200 years old. Mannady, the place which has got historical importance is just 6 km from here. The inhabitants of this village are mainly dominated by Hindu community but there is a significant Christian population a few Muslims.
