Man Without a Gun was a western theme series which was produced by 20th Century Fox television and presented in first-run syndication in the United States from 1957 to 1959. The show was set in Yellowstone Dakota in the 1870s and starred actor Rex Reason as newspaper editor Adam MacLean who brought miscreants to justice without the use of violence or gunplay.
The program was considered unique by showcasing MacLean's moral ethics and common sense being used to bring in crooks and outlaws. The show was also used as a schoolroom to teach the youngsters of the day about common decency and the differences between right and wrong.[1]
