Description	Detail from the "Mantes carpet", depicting animal and hunting scenes. Northwestern Iran, 16th century. Warp and weft: wool; pile: wool; knot: asymetrical. The carpet once covered the floor of the collegiate church of Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines, France), hence its name.

Français : Détail du « tapis de Mantes », qui représente des scènes animalières et des scènes de chasse. Iran du nord-ouest, XVIe siècle. Chaîne et trame en laine, velours en laine, nœud asymétrique. Le tapis provient de la collégiale de Mantes (Yvelines, France), d'où son nom.
