Photograph from the Manchester Guardian, 27 September 1947, "A crowd of Muslims at the old fort of Purana Kila outside Delhi." The Purana Qila (Old Fort) area had been converted into a vast camp for Muslim refugees waiting to be transported to Pakistan.
