00:40, 26 November 2005 (UTC) Santa Luċija

  • Santa Lucija - months ago I had created this article. Obviously it has to be merged with St. Lucia's. I personally do not agree on the name St.Lucia's. If anything, It should be St.Lucia - or simple merge with Santa Lucija, as renaming as St. Lucia one would have to create a disambiguation page with St. Lucia (Malta) and St. Lucia (the country) Maltesedog 15:44, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
    • In the MaZE it is Santa Luċija with the ċ. I don't at all prefer the spelling linked into the template.. I found it linked that way from the 'list of local councils'. Sounds like the Santa Lucija should move to [{Santa Luċija]] and the links move to point there.. can probably request deletion on st.lucija's? Srl 16:36, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Yes I agree. But I doubt whether people are willing to search with the Maltese alphabet. Certainly foreigners do not have such characters on their keyboard. So its good if we place a rediret from St. Lucija to St. Luċija. (This would be done automatically if we move the page.) In the meantime I'm placing an afd for St. Lucia's.
    • I think such things should be redirects here on en, with the real content with the correct names. On mt we have only the correct names. Srl 22:23, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Matter resolved by redirecting St. Lucia's to Santa Luċija. Maltesedog 20:26, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Boy um, ... that was a short AfD phase, mhux hekk? np though i think since i made the other page. I think you didn't fix the template and LC lists, i'll fix 'em. Srl 21:57, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
      • I fixed the templates. St. Lucia's is history! I think this matter is resolved.. Srl 10:29, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

Malta template? 00:43, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Please discuss the template itself here. Srl 21:33, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

  • The template has St. Paul's Bay in brackets.

Also the english version of Santa Lucija is Sta Lucia as far as i know not St. Lucia's. I have also replied to your comments placed on the peer review page. Maltesedog 10:47, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Cool. I just finished making an article for all of the malta LC's (not gozo yet..) they are very stubby please feel free to expand.. as to St. Lucia's i just created it, sorry :/ how should it best be fixed? Srl 09:30, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
Categorization question here - input needed.. Srl 09:48, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

07:28, 27 November 2005 (UTC) Saint Julian

I had made an attempt to throw most of the information in this town under an article called St. Julian because its irrelevant to the village.

A certain person has replaced the content back into the village.

How are we to proceed?

Maltesedog 10:57, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

It looks like you removed the section instead of linking to it.. where did you move it to? Looking at Talk:St. Julian's, if I didn't read your comment here, it wouldn't be clear what you are saying, I think you mean "the information on st julian is irrelevant and should be moved elsewhere"? In summary, I suggest that you expand your comments on the Talk:St. Julian's page so that they reflect (briefly) the situation and concern, even to those you are not addressing directly, and lets discuss it on that page. (hope this makes sense..) I think I am in agreement that it should be moved. OK, I found it: Saint_Julian was removed as a copyright violation.. Srl 17:42, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
  • Its probably copied from some book this time as well. I don't know! I had created the article (the IP number is mine), but soon realised it was copied... is this text copied or what? Maltesedog 20:00, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
    • It says 'from MUSEUM with permission'. I took a stab at separating it again... seem to have avoided the copyvio: Saint Julian.. Srl 01:58, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Agree Maltesedog 20:33, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Discovered another Saint with the name Julian which is redirected from the page St Julian. A disambiguation page is neccessary? Maltesedog 20:36, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
      • Yep, i think so. Maybe ask at the Saint or List of Saints page for help? Srl 08:23, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
        • I think this can be done easily by ourselves, but if you believe we should ask please do so Maltesedog 12:23, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
Here's a proposal. I don't think a disambiguation page is needed.. I don't know how much of this needs to be proposed on the pages themselves or not.
  1. Move Saint_Julian to Julian the Poor or something
    1. make St. Julian's and any other current links link to the new page
  2. (note St Julian is only linked one time, from Sherborne.)
  3. Put at the top of both Julian the Poor and Julian of Norwich a see-also link to the other.

I wouldn't be opposed to a disambiguation page, but I almost think it would be better to not do one if there are just links between the two articles. Just my Lm0.02 Srl 17:08, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

  • Not sure whether the reference as St. Julian as Julian the Poor is theologically correct. (Need to check). I think it would be better to ask for help. Maltesedog 12:41, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Ma nafx.. just used that as an example. That's why I said Maybe ask at the Saint or List of Saints page Srl 18:29, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
      • please Archive when you are happy, mtdog. Srl 03:55, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
        • Placed a request in the saints talk page. Maltesedog 08:29, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

06:06, 9 December 2005 (UTC) Dustin zammit

  • Dustin zammit - see Talk:Dustin zammit - copyvio? is he even a footballer? Srl 16:40, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
    • No results in the "Google Test", would propose for afd as "non-notable" Maltesedog 20:02, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Let's wait to see if he responds. Valletta United (Valletta FC?) is real, a player in it might be notable? Srl 22:31, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Valletta United (?) is an old Valletta football team of pre-war times see [1] Maltesedog 12:18, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Sky Malta does not exist. The player is only 16 years old (therefore does not play in local leagues). Non-notability, therefore is an issue. Maltesedog 12:22, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
      • OK, agree on AFD then.. do you want to propose it? Srl 16:57, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
        • Done, let's see the afd process before archiving Maltesedog 12:38, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

{{Malta-stub}} 19:33, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi all

Hi, I was wondering if a Maltese Wikipedian could lend their knowledge to an AfD on an article entitled Strampop, which is some kind of article on a genre of music in Malta, which includes everyone from Arctic Monkeys Incubus to Radiohead and Pink Floyd. A guy from Malta has created this article, which is currently up for AfD here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Strampop. There seems to be no google hits whatever to confirm this article exists, and it really looks like he's made it up. However, I don't know anything about Malta, other than it's in the Mediterranean, has a football team called Valetta, and won the George Cross after getting battered in World War 2. Which is to say, I really can't tell if this guy has made this up, or if it really is a widely used term in Malta. Please could you guys weigh in at the AfD. Thanks.
