For me the most extraordinary thing about the word pagaian was the way it became independently expressed on opposite sides of the planet within a matter of months. Now that the word is writ large in cyberspace and human consciousness it appears to be such an obvious way of expressing a contemporary way of pagan knowing and being. I believe it was a meme whose time had come and like all such memes it found expression in the thoughts, imaginings, dreams and eventually the voices of Rob, Glenys and myself. PaGaian Cosmology Re-inventing Earth-based Goddess Religion represents for me the emergence of ‘such a religion’. It is a book that has come out of the author’s life experience including her liturgical Christian experience and considerable academic rigour. PaGaian Cosmology has the potential to turn one’s worldview inside out, or at least upside down for those of us who tend to put a northern hemisphere spin on just about everything. Even though I must confess to being a biased reader of my beloved Glenys Livingstone’s book, it has nevertheless poetically transformed my hitherto theosophy into a more useful down to mother Earth spiritual practice. What has impressed me most is the way PaGaian Cosmology enables me to cultivate my relationship with Self, Other and All-that-is, at home, in my place, each and every day, season in and season out.
