Admin coaching

Thank you for your offer! I see that you’re new to this, but you’ve got to start somewhere, right? After reading through your RfA, though, I’m convinced that you’ll make an excellent coach. I agree to your condition and accept your offer. Thanks again. —Travistalk 21:59, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

SALT

Yes, I have salted it. I'm guessing it might have been cascade protected at WP:PT before the development of direct protection for deleted articles. bibliomaniac15 22:31, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

RfA

Many thanks for your support. I don't believe in spamming round pretty pictures, but I will be thanking all who participated. Now, where's that mop? There's a hell of a pile of debris to clear up! Kind regards, --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 23:08, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thank you for the barnstar! Happy editing!

RfA thanks

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which was unsuccessful with 19 support, 18 oppose, and 5 neutral. I have signed up for admin coaching and will retry later on in a couple more months.

I hope that by performing more edits on Wikipedia in the next few months that I could possibly change your mind by my next RfA, possibly around May 2008. - Jameson L. Tai talkcontribs 05:19, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, better luck next time. Malinaccier Public (talk) 13:13, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Congrats

(Sorry I'm late, was away!) You're more than welcome, and congrats. I was actually (hoping?) expecting that my comment would draw some backlash, but aaah well - you can't win 'em all :D Anyway, enjoy the tools. Cheers, Dihydrogen Monoxide (party) 05:49, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks a lot! Malinaccier Public (talk) 13:13, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Airman's Cave

You're deletion doesn't match why you deleted my article. Airman's cave has historical significance and I can't see how it fits under your tag of section A7. Can you please explain? If you'd actually looked at the article you'd see that it doesn't fit this category. Lacitpo (talk) 00:50, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Lacitpo, I've looked over the deleted page, and the deletion log. This particular page has been deleted three times, twice as copyright infringements. Malinaccier was right in deleting it a third time. I will post this on your talkpage also. Keeper | 76 00:59, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Keeper. Malinaccier (talk) 01:01, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Ok, So I started this whole quest to have Airmen's Cave created as a wikipedia article the wrong way. I am leaving this message on all 3 admins who graciously pointed out my previous errors in my origional 3 creations and I would like to state my case to have this article re-instated.
1st regarding the blatant copyrite infringement. I have rewritten the article in complete to remove the copyrite problems, and even the paraphrasing I attempted in my second attempt at the article. All of the text in the current version of the article is my own, with facts pulled from relevant sources.
2nd My article was deleted based on Wikipedia:CSD#A7 which to my understanding is a policy there to prevent trivial articles. I would like to cite the following 2 sources to both prove via what I think qualify as credible sources that my article is both not trivial and that the information contained within is citable.
[1] - is a news story from dailytexanonline about 3 students who were lost in Airmen's cave and rescued by the local firefighters. This story was carried by multiple other news sources (CNN CBS
My second source to cite information about the cave is from [The World Caves Database http://www-sop.inria.fr/agos-sophia/sis/DB/database.html]. If you scroll down to the United States on [this list http://www-sop.inria.fr/agos-sophia/sis/DB/countries.html] from their site you will see Airmen's Cave listed, with information including it's total length.
3rd My original retype of the article included information from the personal web site of Michael Wescott Loder who is accepted as one of the caves original explorers and did significant work mapping the cave. This information sadly, is not citable yet since I have not been able to find credible coverage to back up the information presented on his web site. The current write up of the Airmen's Cave article I would like to implement will not include information from this source until I find a credible and scholarly way to cite it as accurate. I would like to link 2 sites here, which are people's personal sites that though not citable, do backup in greater detail much of the information I've put forth here. I believe these to might qualify for being added as external links to allow readers to navigate to the pages and read and decide for themselves.

Well handled! I knew you could do it, you appear to be doing fine and I know you'll continue that trend. Thank you for your continued support of the preceeding few days/week, it has proved invaluable. Regards, Rudget. 16:41, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

My RfA was successful, and closed with 44 Supports, 6 Opposes, and 1 Neutral. For your support, you have my thanks - I fully intend to live up to the lofty yet not-a-big-deal responsibility you have granted me. For those who opposed my candidacy, I value your input and advice, and hope that I may prove worthy of your trust. Special thanks to both Rudget and bibliomaniac15 for their expert coaching and guidance. I look forward to serving the project, my fellow editors, the pursuit of higher knowledge, et cetera, et cetera. Again, you have my thanks. Thanks for the rollback feature!! Is it OK to use to revert spam?? --Solumeiras (talk) 15:35, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Styrofoam1994

Recently, you awarded this user the ability to use rollback. From looking at his behavior, such as calling me a "perv" and impersonating a wikipedia administrator, I would like for you to reconsider the rollback ability. The user also made other bad edits which you can find on his contribs, thanks --DurzaTwinkTALK (talk) 21:08, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Here are some rationals as to why Styrofoam1994 should be rechecked for the ability to use rollback. Over here which talks about the user's personal attacks. here which was another warning about personal attacks. Here which is about him creating fake New Messages. [2] [3] [4] [5] are all about his vandalism on my userpage. here is where he impersonated an administrator. Here He made personal attack against me. What I am trying to say is that this user has made many unconstructive contributions to wikipedia. In hopes of keeping Wikipedia a safe and accurate encyclopedia, I sincerely believe that another check of Styrofoam1994 might be reasonable. Best Regards--DurzaTwinkTALK (talk) 02:12, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Maybe it's just me, but a user with that name isn't going to write a featured article? Sometimes you just have to say the heck with the rules and just say buh-bye. Wildthing61476 (talk) 19:53, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

ANI thread about a rollback you granted

Hey Malinaccier, there's an ANI thread about Undead warrior (talk · contribs) who you recently (about 5 hours ago) granted rollback privileges to. His use of it has already come into question (this is obviously no fault of your own; don't feel any "I enabled a beast" remorse! :) ). Just thought you might be interested in seeing it. Metros (talk) 01:25, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

I was just about to post to you myself as I am the editor who made the ANI request. The editor has used the rollback function to rv edits that were simple/constructive edits/corrections to templates that the user has some WP:OWN leanings as he is the creator. Because the corrections go against his personal opinion on formatting (he has something against the standard/consensus 'greys') he has used his newly acquired rollback privileges to revert "non-vandalism" edits. Perhaps you can assist? Thanks and have a nice day. 156.34.220.166 (talk) 01:28, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
