RfA thanks

Dear Malinaccier, here is a little note to say thank you for your kind support on my request for adminship which succeeded with a final result of (72/19/6).

Now that I am a sysop, do not hesitate to contact me with any queries you have. I would be glad to help you along with the other group of kind and helpful administrators.

Thank you again and I look forward to editing alongside you in the future. — E talk 12:25, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Still need a coach?

Hello. I noticed your request for a coach over at Admin coaching, and I'm available.

Keep in mind that I'm not an admin - I've been through 3 intense RfAs (so far), and therefore I understand the process well, though I have not yet overcome the stigma of conflicts I was engaged in early in my participation here (which occurred over a year ago, also, if you want to see what not to do in an RfA, see my first two). But I am an admin coach, and have co-coached 5 users who have become admins, 4 of whom I co-nominated for adminship in their successful RfAs, and strongly endorsed the other as her admin coach. I have experience over a wide range of activities, and I'd say my general approach is progressive and direct.

If you do not currently have an admin coach, I would be glad to be your coach. I do have a few conditions though, and they are that you...

  1. watch your coaching page closely, and reply to every post there in a timely fashion
  2. fill in all of your edit summaries (if you find yourself forgetting, there's a setting in "my preferences" that will remind you)
  3. keep the "VC lessons" template somewhere you can access it easily (usually on your user page or your talk page). I'll place it initially, and then you can move it if you want. It'll include a convenient link to your coaching page.
  4. complete all the assignments you are given to the best of your ability. If you have trouble with an assignment, by all means, let me know, so we can discuss possible solutions and alternatives.
  5. take the advice provided by my fellow coaches and your fellow students to heart (this should be a group effort), and I generally invite others I work with to join in on the fun (which is why I'm usually a co-coach)
  6. (optional, though highly recommended) write a lesson for the Virtual classroom. There's plenty of time to think about this, so don't worry about it now.
  7. don't go for your RfA or accept an RfA nomination except from me - I will coordinate your nomination when I believe you are ready

Please let me know if you agree, and we can get started.

I look forward to your reply.

Thanks for your support in my successful RFA. AliveFreeHappy (talk) 07:26, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

RFA

Thanks for some suggestions for an admin. I have started work on articles for deletion, and sadly, the Auto-Wiki browser is not working. Thanks for your opinion! Ohmpandya (Talk) 00:51, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandal reverts

In the future, when someone is reverting multiple instances of vandalism to an article, as I was to Brett Papworth , you might consider allowing them sufficient time (at least a minute or two) to finish up the vandalism reversions before re-reverting the interim changes immediately. It would help quite a bit to keep the mess down. Thank you. -- Michael Devore (talk) 01:00, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

No sweat, it's an extremely small thing in the scheme of Wikipedia, and I was probably as fault as anyone. I might have been a bit miffed because you caught me in an edit conflict and your revert invalidated my subsequent vandal revert in the process, so I was trying to figure out what was going on (can be hard to keep track when there are stacked vandal changes interspersed with possibly valid ones). Normally I would (and should) have waited a little bit after your intervention to see what was going on. So, I should have just kept my mouth shut and came back in five minutes, avoided the whole tiff. (copied to your talk page). -- Michael Devore (talk) 01:16, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Redwall template

Yeah, publication order is definitely better. I can't believe I hadn't noticed that. Definitely go ahead and change it. GlassCobra 01:51, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome, and good luck! Malinaccier (talk) 15:38, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Forgive me for impeding but...

I was just looking through recent changes (the user section) and saw this page. Just wanted you to know, you can count on my support. :) You're a very good editor and I do wish you become an admin. Good luck with the remainder of the time you'll be spending at Admin Coaching and the eventual RFA! Best regards, Rt. 16:21, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

You need Sat-Nav to get through what I've wrote. :D (Sorry, that's quite bad.) Would you like a co-nomination for yours, whenever it is? Best regards, Rt. 23:43, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Who would have though it? Yeah, I will do exactly that then. Get in touch when it's over. :) Best, Rt. 23:54, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Elonka 3

Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, and have a great new year, --Elonka 18:07, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations, and have fun with the tools. Malinaccier (talk) 18:10, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Oppose

In this edit Diff I wondered why you voted oppose then posted questions. The three questions were fairly simple and straight forward but because of the order in which you made your edits and the state of the vote count at the time I took a while trying to read more into then was there. I have responded, I hope you find the answers enlightening :) Jeepday (talk) 23:11, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

RFA

I think it's fairly obvious that you know what you're doing on Wikipedia. If you don't mind, I can nominate you right now or sometime later. If you accept, then I'll create the page and tell Rudget. bibliomaniac15 17:27, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

All right. Until then, so long. bibliomaniac15 21:18, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Apology

I saw your warning on my talk page. I think what happened was I accidently rolled back your edit when I was rolling back vandals. I apologize for this, I was trying to be helpful not cause an issue. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmanigold (talkcontribs) 01:26, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Wheel and axel

The article Wheel and axel consists of "hi jennifer or DAD!" and a "hangon" tag with no speedy delete template. I tagged it for deletion but left the hangon tag as it is possible the creator wants to add to it.

I notice you then removed the deletion tag, leaving the article untagged but still containing no meaningful content. Is it your view that a speedy delete tag was inappropriate? Euryalus (talk) 01:44, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

(edit conflict) No worries, I was just wondering if I had missed something important and tagged it wrongly. It's something I keep in mind when tagging very new pages - there is sometimes a history to them that is not immediately apparent and when an established editor removes a tag I like to ask why in case I've missed the back story. This one has been deleted now anyway, so issue resolved. Euryalus (talk) 01:54, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
And thanks for the smile. Euryalus (talk) 01:56, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
