[edit] Country Teasers
I removed the speedy tag from this article. With 8 albums, >70000 google hits, and a profile on allmusic.com the speedy tag is inappropriate. Please keep adding to the article. --Durin 00:05, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: United Kingdom
I will leave the entry the way you last edited to, as no other editor seems to have an issue with "Britain" over "Great Britain", but for the record, how another wikipedia article words the definition of Great Britain is irrelevant because Wikis are not considered reliable sources. Meaning that for all we know, the entry at British Isles (terminology) could actually be incorrect. — Dorvaq (talk) 17:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually I was far guiltier than you: Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Archives/Humanities/2008_February_23#1952_abolition_of_identity_cards_in_the_United_Kingdom. I hope you are not mad at me. I just didn't like your comment, which was way too personal, and gave no valuable information at all. The Even more chilling was her blatant arrogance and ignorance, a sickening caricature of the spirit of the master race-part was way too rhetorical (and of bad quality to boot :).
Everybody decent and hopefully with a acceptable knowledge of history despises the Nazis (most of the persons who despise them know all too little). However the 3rd Reich (and Nazi Germany in particular) is without any doubt a fascinating subject. The uniforms, tanks, planes, generals, the sheer madness and audacity of Hitler, the invasion of France, Stalingrad, D-day, the concentration camps. Why do think so many questions are made about Nazi Germany in the Humanities forum? Why do you think that in Reenactment gatherings most of the ppl wear German (SS) uniforms? I'm not going to defend Leni Riefenstahl. I know far too little about her. However you must realize that she met and knew the Nazi leaders in person, and was fascinated by them (and by Hitler in particular). So she made some propaganda movies, and later was never forgiven or even allowed to forget that fact. It was probably thrown in her face a countless number of times. She never got a good chance to change and evolve into someone wiser and it is very likely that as she got older (at the time of the interview) she was getting too old in her mind (most old ppl don't become better, they just become crankier).
It reminds me a bit of the latest movie about Hitler. It was accused of showing Hitler in a "too humane fashion". Well the truth is that that he truly was a human being and that he liked his Shepperd dog (which he used to test the poison), his mistress Eva Braun, and some persons. He read many books which gave and taught him -then widely acceptable- racist theories (which were later found despicable but before very scientific). He became a fanatic political and racist zealot who rose to power and glory and then fell to complete defeat. The guy was seeing his whole world and vision crumbling around him and there was nothing he could do to stop it (and thank god for that). The real problem is that many of us don't want to know or to see Hitler the madman and human being, and how he rose to absolute power. They only want to see the screaming crazy monkey, the sickening caricature (it is an useful expression) and blame everything solely upon him. In other words they don't want try to understand the circumstances (I'm not speaking about excusing or forgiving but just understanding - there is a huge diff).
Well in the end I just didn't like the comment. I hope you didn't take it in a personal fashion. God knows it wasn't meant as a personal insult. Cheers Flamarande (talk) 02:07, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] gayelle
why did you remove my very valid question from the hummanities section. gayelle is sociological in nature and a humanities perspective would have been very useful. You can't do this i think. please set things right friend?NewAtThis (talk) 00:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Gayelle (lesbian), I have added many new RS to the article and therefore I would like you to reconsider your vote that was based on a previous version that did not take your WP:NEO or WP:N and WP:RS and WP:V concerns into account.NewAtThis (talk) 04:02, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
