About myself:

Did a chemistry degree long enough ago that I've forgotten almost all of it. Read far too much science fiction and fantasy. Have an ever growing collection of obsolete home computers filling a back bedroom.

Welcome, Malcolm!

Interesting work on the utopia/dystopia/H.G. Wells stuff!

Yes, I've got stacks of these sort of books lying around, now I have to go and reread them (and read for the first time the Edward Bellamy book that's been on my shelf for some years, too!)

Hi Malcolm,

Very nifty program you've got there. Perhaps you could just completely replace new topics with the results of your program? Take charge, please!  :-)

Malcolm- I have come up with a little Unix shell script using lynx -post_data to post articles. I'm using it for posting the 1911 encyclopedia articles. You could adapt it to autopost the new topics stuff. e-mail me if you are interested. --Alan Millar

Thanks for the 10,000 article announcement, Malcolm. Woo-hoo! --User:LMS

You keep typing (or scanning, or whatever!) and I'll keep editing, Malcolm. Popes, antipopes and related articles alone ought to count for a thousand fairly soon! --MichaelTinkler

Unfortunately I was rewriting Telstar at the same time as you and I placed my version over yours. Please take a look.

Hi Malcolm! I'd like to solicit a current article count. Seems pretty likely we're over 20,000 articles, and that's something I'd like to put in the press release if it's true. --User:LMS

That's a nice photo of a field of snowdrops; how about a little text? (Not something I know much about, and I suspect you know more than I could find quickly.)

Sorry stepped on your toes. I think Cuthulu Mythos was the right place for the details of the Mythos but I'll let you sort it. Alex

A thousand thanks for the help on saturation! -- April

Regarding Pożegnania (or Pozegnania), I know there are lots of problems displaying Polish-language characters in Wiki... I don't know anything about the technical side of things, really. All I know is that I'd love to have both the Pożegnania (or Pozegnania) link on the Polish Film School and Farewells pages redirect to Farewells... Hope that makes sense!

If you start looking through the Polish-language related entries on Wiki, you'll find LOTS of issues like this. I don't know how to solve them... It's a problem, however... Benzamin 2:41 EST, 14/6/05

Greetings there friend,

In regards to the deletion of my contribution of the title of 'Churchie Dance Off', it relates to something that is much greater. It is a social event that many have attended and has a proud history of hosting thousands of girls in the Brisbane area (a city in Australia). The population of the city might not be as much compared to other cities around the place, but this event is quite well known as is regarded as one of the best social events for students (in high school) in Brisbane. Can you please not delete future posts relating to it?
