[edit] Remove "orientation" item
This could lead to a libel case. Just because a man has appeared in an all-male film or a film for the gay market does not mean he is gay or bisexual. It's acting, just like any non-porn actor who has played a gay man but does not identify as such. There has already been a complaint about this that led to takedown of an article. I propose moving the item from the template. Jokestress 03:12, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- OK, just decided to be bold and take it out myself. This will keep it from displaying on the pages, even if it shows in the code. Jokestress 10:05, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
I put it back in. True, a performer appearing in a film targeted toward a gay audience doesn't make him gay or bisexual; however, no one's orientation should be stated without it being verifiable, which would absolve Wikipedia from any libel. In other words, the data tag being there doesn't mean it has to be used; like all of the other tags, the information should only be completed if there are sources to back it up.—Chidom talk 02:42, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Penis size
This is a very valid piece of information for adult male performers. It is no less appropriate than is the inclusion of the measurements of a woman's bust. The information is frequently used to promote the work of a particular performer, as a publicity item, or as a "hook" - consider John Holmes or Kevin Dean, for example.—Chidom talk 02:46, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm removing the "measurement" parameter for precisely the reason you've described; it is not encyclopedic except in the context of marketing and publicity, and presenting it in an infobox as a naked fact, so to speak, is inappropriate.--ragesoss 23:09, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

- And I'm putting it back in—um, everything from hair color to bust size has been used to market women in film; that doesn't make that information unencyclopedic. Get some consensus here before editing it out again.75.58.64.105 16:14, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shoe size?
Ok I get the penis length, IMDB, etc, but I really don't see the necessity for the 'shoe size' section on here. Quite frankly I don't see why it would matter either, the supposed correlation between a man's penis size and the size of his hands or feet is just an old wives tale. (I believe the Kinsey report disproved it but I'd have to go back and look it up). I can't imagine a porn star putting up on his website 'penis size = 7 1/2 inches' 'shoe size = 12' or whatever, when looking at a porn star I think shoe size would be the hardest thing to verify, unless of course the actor is into feet fetishes, in which case it might be important. Just tossing all this out there. --ImmortalGoddezz 20:07, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- ::::catching the toss:::: I'll take the credit/blame. The shoe size parameter is included in the {{Female adult bio}} template; although I wasn't clear as to why it was there, I figure the data is no less important for males than it is for females. (The thought crossed my mind about foot fetishists, as well, but who knows?)

[edit] Yet another rewrite
I noticed Jack Hammer (porn actor) was showing the codes {{orientation}} and {{shoe size}}, literally. Then I found Wikipedia:Don't use hiddenStructure which explained this problem. Following its recommendations, I used #if: from m:ParserFunctions, and Template:Female adult bio, which should work better. AnonEMouse (squeak) 19:34, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Refinement?
Is there a way for the "AFDB entry" to only show up in the bio box if it's populated? It's kind of a pain to remember to take it out when there's no listing there. Thanks.—Chidom talk 18:16, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Change from "image" to "photo"
I just discovered this change when I noticed an image was deleted. The change from "image" to "photo" appears not to have been updated in the articles. This means that the images won't display and are being tagged as orphaned and deleted. Is it possible to do something about this? — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:18, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yuck. Clearly changed by someone who wasn't thinking about it. I reverted all the changes, the images should be back now. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 20:23, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hopefully other photos haven't been deleted because of this! I undeleted the one I noticed. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 22:22, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Merge Female adult bio here
I suggest this template be merged with Male adult bio and renamed to Adult bio. The only think in the template that does not apply to women as well. Neitherday 01:08, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

- I have changed the merger notice to suggest merging to the new Template:Adult bio instead.
[edit] Death location?
Since there's an item for location of birth, can somebody add a location of death, similar to the "straight" bio infoboxes? Thanks. — Malik Shabazz (Talk | contribs) 22:29, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
