Quote: "Use of Malal in further Games Workshop productions was halted, as Games Workshop did not own the intellectual property to the concept of Malal - the comic's authors did."

Were did this refer to? I'm in mail contact wiith one of the authors of Kaleb Daark. He doesn't know anything about it!

I took out the line that read "This is probably just a wild guess, but Malal probably has no daemon servants of his own" I dont think any info should be put here based on a 'wild guess' Ageofe 22:15, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

There is like... nothing but lies and dreams in this article...

I'm going to clean it up.

There is essentially nothing known about Malal, he was in one comic and mentioned maybe twice in Rogue Trader.

This article really needs a cleaning up, but it would be nice if it was done in an initiated way. Malal is not mentioned at all in Rogue Trader.

I have now cleaned up this article a bit and added references. Most of what is known about Malal should now be in the article.

[edit] The Great Maw = Malal?

There are similarities, they both embody destruction--82.71.72.46 21:46, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Besides the Skrag connection I see no link, besides, I believe the first mention of The Great Maw is in the same edition of WFRP that conatians the Malal description. Mabrothrax 16:01, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] External Links Removed

Weirdly, the external links were removed just now. Second time -- first time by some bot (which I thought were against the Wikipedia Rules), the second time because 1 is a fansite, which is against the link rules (which, I cannot find any mention of), and 2 is a French language site (which is banned, EXCEPT when they contain visual aids, which the website does.)

Specifically, the only revlivant policy on the former that I can find is a prohibitation on "links to personal sites". Unfortuantely, the first link (Malal Lives!) is the de-facto information source on this content, as well as an anonymous source -- there is no personal data on the page.

The second link falls under the category "Foreign-language links", and the policy on that is as follows:

is:

"Foreign-language links

English language links are strongly preferred in the English-language Wikipedia. It may be appropriate to have a link to a foreign-language site, such as when an official site is unavailable in English, when the link is to the subject's text in its original language or they contain visual aids such as maps, diagrams, or tables, per the guideline on foreign-language sites.

When linking to a site in a foreign language under the exceptions above, label the link with a language icon, available for most languages, using two-letter language codes: for example, (Spanish), (French), etc."

Specifically, because this page has significant visual aids for the content -- sample pages for the comics, pictures of the long out of print miniatures, etc, I feel it matches the requirements for Foreign-language links.

I am re-adding the links (modified with the FR Icon) based on that. KiTA 00:07, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Sorry but external links should only be included if they are foreign if they are used as references within the article. If they are included as external links then the content should be includable within the article anyway.
The other link, a fansite, is also not allowed due to it being a fansite - hosted on a free webhosting service which should be avoided on its own, but it being a fansite also means that the content is not 100% verifiable and therefore not acceptable. Thanks, Localzuk(talk) 00:37, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Updated and Shadowlord or Be'lakor

I added the information on Necoho and Zuvassin according to old link ([1]) discussed here([2]).

BTW: Should Mordheim Shadowlord/Be'lakor really be mentioned in this article? It's just really speculation after all. Sixhundredandsixtysix 09:32, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Not much feedback on that one. I'll shorten down the paragraph at least. Sixhundredandsixtysix 16:36, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Regarding this statement: "The Shadowlord of Mordheim, Be'lakor, has been confirmed by GW as revision of the concepts Malal stood for, since, due to copyright reasons, Malal has been revised out of all current background material." by 86.134.213.125 on 24 August 2007. Do you have a link or a reference to back up this statement that it has been really confirmed by GW? Also, the single greatest reason for Malal being edited out may not have been for copyright reasons only, it may have been that the deity didn't fit the "new" chaos pantheon created around 1988. [edit] Malal Lives!

I am the author of the'fansite' malal-lives. It is unfortunate that it is unsubmitable as a link on the main page. I've recently decided to start updating and reworking the site in question as there has been interest from a number of places.Mabrothrax 16:00, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi there. Nice to see more of Malals followers on the net. I've messing around with this article and have been trying to sort it out to the best of my abilities. I am not a native english speaker though, so hopefully someone with a better sense of the language can put those things I've missed right. Otherwise I've added most of the info that I have available on Malal in the article (which, to the best of my knowledge, is everything officially published). I've also sorted out (hopefully all) the misconceptions and myths which invariably follows this mythical figure. Unfortunately all "fan-made" material and sites are banned due to lack of verifyability. No original research unfortunately, but that doesn't stop you from making your excellent site even better. Regarding Malal and fan material I felt the need to add this in a separate section as these keep being added to the article, despite being just fan material. [edit] Wild Speculation

I really think the brief paragraph about the Adeptus Mechanicus symbol should be removed. Before you know it we'll have sections about the Omega Marines, the 'deleted' 11th Primarch & Legion as well as anything coloured black & white or decorated with skulls!

This page needs to be restricted to the facts (almost none, I know) and the confirmed/obvious/blatant refferences to Malal (Dreadaxe in C:CSM, Sons of Malice, Be'lakor etc).

Mabrothrax 09:48, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Mabrothrax

I guess one can say that AM link was a bit too much speculation Sixhundredandsixtysix 08:36, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Restructured and added info

I have split up the "origins" part into two sections, as I felt it was a bit messy. I also added the (sparse) info on the "Claws of Malal". Sixhundredandsixtysix 08:40, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removed Speculations

Removed the unconfirmed statment that Belakor was intended by GW as a replacement for Malal and also that it was removed due to copyright questions. Also removed speculation about links between Kweethul and Malal.Sixhundredandsixtysix 13:20, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Undid Edit

I undid the latest edit 09:12, 8 June 2008 by 71.116.91.244 where the "fan creations" part was deleted. My experience is that a lot of the fan-based info i.e. sacred number 11, reptilian daemons etc would start to be added to the article again without this paragraph. Please discuss if there is anyone who thinks differently. Sixhundredandsixtysix (talk) 12:52, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
