This article was put together to separate the Malabar region from the Malabar coast, the Malabar District and the general word Malabar since many articles refer specifically to one of the three specific articles and do not mean the general word.

Malabar, being such a general word, is linked to all sorts of articles that have nothing to do with India, as well as many Indian articles also. This article is an attempt to clarify the situation, since it is confusing to the reader to follow a link that goes to an irrelevant article. Mattisse(talk) 20:44, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
