Malung is a town (pop. 5,146) in Dalarna, Sweden and the seat of Malung Municipality, Dalarna County. It has a small town centre with supermarkets, a pizza house and local scout hall, amongst other attractions.
It is also home to Malungs Folkhøgskola, a few kilometers outside downtown. This school has a few of the best Swedish fiddlers (Jonny Soling and Kalle Almlof), singers and folk dancers as teachers of their folk music and dance programs. Other specialized courses include mountaineering and health. Folkhogskolas are vocational schools located across the country to provide small communities with academic resources. Thus, reading and writing courses are also offered (in Swedish, of course).
