Malta got the last place in 2005 with 18 points. 12 points were awarded extra by EBU to all participants, 1 point was awarded to Thea & Friends by Greece, while the other 5 points were awarded to the Maltese entry by Denmark. Malta always was represented by female singers till now.
Malta are still waiting for their first set of twelve points and to this day the highest Malta has gotten is 2 sets of ten points in JESC 2003 from the UK and Denmark.
Sophie Debattista is the youngest person Malta have sent to Junior Eurovision at the age of 12.
