Malt loaf is a common snack food in the United Kingdom.

Soreen[1] is a popular brand, the name being derived from 'Sorensen' the name of the family that once ran the company and Aunt Ellen's is another brand. Both are produced in Manchester.

Malt loaf has a sweet taste and a chewy texture like very heavy, soft bread. It is made from malt and often contains fruit such as raisins. Many eat it with a spread of butter, chocolate or cheese[citation needed].
